Meet Dr. Rhome

Dr. Rhome has been an endodontist for nearly 40 years and has conducted well over 30,000 procedures in the Philadelphia area.

Dr. Rhome received his DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1977. After graduating, he completed a one-year general practice dental residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT. During that time, Dr. Rhome realized a special passion for the field of endodontics and returned to Philadelphia for further study.

He was accepted into the combined Post-Graduate Endodontic Program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and Albert Einstein Hospital and received his dual certificate degree in endodontics in 1980. Dr. Rhome is the only full-time practicing endodontist in the Philadelphia area with that unique honor.

After obtaining his dual certificate, Dr. Rhome began his full-time practice of endodontics in the Philadelphia area. Additionally, he served as a part-time member of the faculty/staff at the Graduate Hospital Dental Department from 1982 through 1984.

He then joined the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery & Hospital Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center as the staff/faculty endodontist from 1984 through 1997. In addition to treating hospital and private patients, he taught and mentored the hospital/student residents.

Dr. Rhome is a life member of the American Association of Endodontists and a member of both the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.

He has served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Eastern Dental Society, and as Treasurer of the Albert Einstein Endodontic Alumni Association.

AWARDS 

As voted by his peers, Dr. Rhome has won the Philadelphia Magazine’s TOP DENTIST AWARD in Endodontics every year since its inception, from 2010 through 2021.
